Hi all, relatively new to the Ducati scene and need some advice for a friend in South Africa looking to purchase a 2012 -2013 1199 V2 . Are there any inherent issues to know about that are common failure points or specific to check on viewing a potential bike ? Usual used bike check will apply obviously but any tips would be very helpful. Service intervals , belt changes and valve clearance checks. What mileages are the above done at please ? They will be working in Km but should relate once converted from miles I would guess. I know absolutely zero about these later Ducatis so any info I could share with him would be most appreciated . yes I could Google, but rather ask for first hand info
Annual service or every 6000 miles, whichever first. They don’t have belts Valve service at 15k usual checks re crash damage including checking the lock stops. Check panel alignment. Check rear light for cracks/chips from stones. Controls freely operate. Etc etc.
