Today's Interesting Read?

  1. I heard on a TV programme recently - and I think it was a BBC programme so obviously it can't be disputed.... though on this occasion I wouldn't dispute it - that the population of Africa (never mind the rest of the world) is set to triple in the next 50 years.
    What happens when overshoot day occurs before January the 1st? Does that place Mankind inc. in the same position of Greece?
    If so, the way that crisis has been dealt with - shifting deadlines, prevaricating, redefining what the problem is in the hope of wishing it away - doesn't set a very encouraging precedent.
