Torque For 848 Evo -brake Calipers To Fork Lugs Needed Please

  1. Been looking on my online manual for this figure , can't find any mention of it in the 'Torque settings'

I have removed and refitted them before and have an idea the figure is 42nm, but could be confusing that with the 749 I used to have.

Just noticed whilst 'rtfm' that the rear wheel nut is 230nm, I have had the wheel on and off at least 3 times recently and retightened to 180nm as I mistakenly thought this was the correct tightness ( again confusing this with the 749) No problems with it though, despite all the extra loading of a track day.
I need a longer extension bar methinks

  2. ....and some new reading glasses?

    ;)

  3. The right tool until it's tight. Simple.

  4. IIRC caliper bolts are at 42N and greased.
rear wheel i think is 174 and sprocket side 146N and greased.

  5. Now found it's 45nm for the calipers

The 230nm I mentioned is for the rear wheel retaining pack nut both sides ( 48 x 1.5mm)

Can't find anything in the manual about rear wheel nut torque though, I will use what I have before - 180nm.

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated.

  6. Hi john. I think the 230N is for the big hub bikes.
The problem with the 848 manual is that bits of it refer to the 1*98 bikes.

  7. Thanks Ian
I don't get on well with the manual I have in digital format , takes me hours to find anything.
Much prefer an oily dog eared paper version!

  8. yes that's the 1098 hub torque
