  1. Just replacing the wheels after powder coating on my 1098, CD manual i bought off ebay says rear wheel nut to be torqued to 230Nm??, seems kind of high, also serviceing the clutch, the manual says 230Nm for the centre nut, that seems kind of high to?

  2. Its nearly enough to lift the bike off the floor ! ... I had to buy another torque wrench as mine only went up to 150Nm ...

    Yea the specs are right.

  3. Both are correct. Yep... they're tight!

  4. The clutch holding tool is only held on by 3 6mm bolts. 230nm will shear those. Going to need a mate to sit on the bike for the rear wheel.

  5. But you are not tightening those so it wont?

  6. No.but the tool is held by those 3 bolts.while you tighten the centre nut

  7. But you are not stripping the threads of the bolts so why would they shear?

  8. 12,000Nm shear on 3 x M6 threaded bolts :)

  9. Just seems a lot of weight to put on and just rely on those small bolts

  10. Well, as my previous post shows, it isn't :)

  11. Dont 'play it safe' and torque less than recommended ... If one of those 230Nm bolts ever come off, you're in serious trouble.

  12. Torqueing up to 230 nm is easy. Never have any trouble doing mine on my own on an Abba stand.
It getting it undone that's tricky. My impact driver goes up to 450 nm and it usually needs every one of them. And a dose of penetrating oil.
