He will be hard to beat whenever of if road racing starts. I only met hin briefly before at thr TT, seemed like a down to earth lad.

Great story though, you'll never see the likes of those days again unfortunately. I can remember sitting in the pub one Friday night not long before closing with a racing mate and suddenly it seemed like a good idea to go back to his and repair the crash damage on his TZ750 from 2 weeks earlier and then drive the 100 miles to Snetterton to see if we could get a (very) late entry for the Saturday meeting. 2.00am and we were all loaded up and driving, finally arriving at about 4.00 got probably no more than 3 hrs kip and sure enough a very helpful Ed Curtis of Newmarket MCC agreed to let my mate enter the meeting. It just wouldn't happen any more.
