1200 Touring Screen For 2011 Mts

  1. Done two little jaunts over the last couple of days on my 2011 Mutley.

When I got it in November the screen that was on it looked like it had started life as a touring one and someone had literally hacksawed the top off (you could see the cut marks). So at the time I bought a dark Puig Sports screen thinking that would be high enough.

The last two days have shown thats its not as at my height (a smidge under 6ft) my head and upper body is still being buffeted.

Was thinking of getting a Puig Touring one like this: Multi Strada 2010 2011 2012 Dark Tint Motorcycle Touring Screen | eBay

Or a Givi one: Ducati MULTISTRADA 1200 2010-12 givi screen D272ST clear touring IN STOCK screen | eBay

Anyone got either? How do you find them?

  2. Surprised no one has answered you yet oz.

From my experience, putting a taller touring screen on actually makes the turbulence and noise worse.
I went the other way and fitted a pikes peak screen. This puts my head in clear air.
Granted it's not as effective in crap weather, but I prefer it.
I have tried a standard screen, ducati touring (has a flip top), and an American one I can't recall the name of that is like a barn door. That is effective but is very close to your head and looks pig ugly.
I also tried the hiss flaps, but gave up on them.

Hope that is of some use.
    Cheers,
    John.

  3. Hi john

Thanks for the reply. I have bought an mra one which has the second small wind deflector on it that can be moved.

Have fitted it but not had a chance to try it yet....

  4. I had the Puig one, with a Wunderlich deflector on the top, worked really well...
