I have two trips to Spain next year, but I have too much time to think, plus the money to sqander. So the channel Islands and/or Ireland might also happen in maybe February or September. Fing is: will either go by car ferry, or by aircraft.. The boat is greener (man) but I could fly from either Bristol or Exeter. Flying is the easiest. What would you do - not taking a motorbike?
Depends if you want to travel around whilst there. For ease, especially in your case, you could fly and hire a car. More expensive but that's maybe not a consideration. Not so sure about the boat being greener in real terms, they're both going to be going on a schedule. Though by making a choice you'd be voting with your feet...
As I won't be taking a vehicle of any sort, I think that I will fly - if I do it at all next year. I may or may not hire a car if I need to. Trying to do it "green" makes no sense. The green thing to do would be to do nothing and stay at home, but that is not much fun!
