916 Triple Trees

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by TNR, May 2, 2020.

  1. Quick and somewhat random question: Did cagiva use different suppliers for triple trees on our bikes?

I have a polished finish on my '95, but notice a lot of 748/9X6 bikes seem to have a brushed finish?

  2. Yokes were never polished like yours from the factory, whether Cagiva, or Ducati. Yours has been on a polishing wheel

  3. What he said, mine has been black anodised .... anything that isn't brushed has been modified. Be grateful its just the yoke and not the wheels ....

  4. Don’t you find the sun reflects too much off them and into your eyes?
All the 748/998 yokes had an anodised finish. The only difference is the lock stop tab changed shape (became thinner) on the later bikes. Same part number though

  6. Yeah, about that.... previous owner thought polishing the wheels was a good idea, too:
