Triumph Daytona Track Bike

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by MrAliT, Feb 29, 2016.

  1. Here's my Daytona. I've had it for a couple of years and have done lots to it as well as enjoyed riding it on track. It was already a very basic track bike when I got it (track fairings and a grotty tank) and whilst many of the mods have been cosmetic (fairing repair and respray, strip and lacquer tank etc), I've also spent time on the hardware too. Sigma slipper clutch, quick action throttle, Maxton fork internals and bump adjuster, Nitron race shock steering damper, engine covers, rearsets, stripped the wiring loom to get rid of unused connectors etc etc. Pics from oldest to newest :

  2. Great work, looks awesome. really tempted to get one of these for the track.

How have you got on with it ergonomically I'm 6ft 2 and I find the panigale a Great fit but really fancy one of these bikes. What else have you ridden on track? How does it compare?

    Cheers Lyndon

  3. Well we couldn't be much further apart as I'm about 5'8" and I find it a great fit. Having said that the max time on track is about 20 minutes at a time and you're always on the move around the bike.

Ive had an 848 on track too and a Speed Triple. It's obviously a completely different bike to the speed so in comparison to the 848 it feels much easier to steer and lighter. The 675 is all about corner speed and if you can get it set up right it's as quick as anything out there. Nothing better than closing up on the thou who's just overtaken you on the straight and going g past on the bits that matter :)

Overall its a brilliant fun bike that is simple to maintain and as long as you don't tune the buggery out of its reliable.
