Triumph Rocket Iii

  1. Soooo MCN 'When Triumph launched the Rocket, they weren’t in a position to cast their own crankcases, which meant they ended up heavier than they would have liked. Now they can, so the cases are lighter, which goes a long way towards an 18kg saving'.

    Surly they designed the engine so it was up to them, don't think it was based on a current car engine was it? And do they really cast their own crank cases now? :thinkingface:

    (or any Panigale for that matter!)
     
  10. Same torque as the XDiavel but 60kg heavier and a 2.3l engine.
    All show and no go..,

    TORQUE - 126 Nm (93 ft lb) @ 5,000 rpm
    Dry weight - 220 kg

    Rocket 3:
    Max Power 165 bhp (123 kW) @ 6,000rpm
    Max Torque 221 Nm (163 ft lb) @ 4,000rpm
    Dry weight - 291 kg

  15. Like to see a moped muppet nick it & try pushing it with their foot whilst riding said scooter. It would break their leg; hopefully :upyeah:

  16. my bad, I glanced at the Diavel figures and took the nm for torque.
