Tuneecu

  1. Hi chaps
Has anyone tried out the app TuneECU available from the app store? I've looked at a good few YouTube vids regarding this and seems a viable option instead of tuneboy. Most of the videos seem geared towards triumph but there are listing for ducati, the only thing I'm not to sure about is the listing shows numerous ducati models but it doesn't state diavel as such but does mention the 1098 1198 engines, but with no listing for which bike I.e panigale/diavel and so on.. Just if anyone has any info on this, I'd be very gratefu..l ta..

OK maybe a bit more info that may make it easier to work out. The site gives the model ecu that it will be compatible with. ECU 5AMHW610
This will make sense To a lot..

  2. Only works with IAW5AM ECUs. Have a look at JPDiag Melcodiag. It is PC based and the leads are available at London Electric.

  3. OK cheers, so I'm guessing that's not what the diavel is running, mine has the full termi system so the appropriate ecu that comes with that.

  4. Yes, I have used TuneECU to remap my Triumph when I fitted a sports exhaust to it.
I found it just needed a basic knowledge of using a computer, a basic knowledge of bike mechanics and a little patience and for me it worked fine.
If you are looking to remap and TuneECU have your exact bike listed it is a good option.

  5. Thanks
Its looking that it may not be any good to me. The diavel isn't listed!!! Doh..

  6. Your bike uses the Mitsubishi ECU

  7. If your bike isnt in the list on the map download page no it won't work.
The software Chris mentions I believe is purely diagnostic.

If your thinking of remapping you will need to seek a tuner with a dyno

  8. Or a tuneboy???

  9. You would still need a rolling road if you were going to map it yourself.
Plus youd need to understand the results you are getting to effectively change the map for the beter.

  10. I have Tuneboy HW inc QS for sale - 275 - you'd just need a key from Tuneboy @ 125 quid

  11. Cheers for that info, no im not into making maps up for the bike, far from it. But I dont think there's a need for a dyno rolling road unless you were trying to squeeze out all dem horses, i believe there are maps available from the site that people have uploaded after they've had there bikes set up on the dyno. And there listed as per setup I.e pipe/filter or running standard or so on. So there should be a suitable map amongst them to make most people happy. I'm not looking for perfection but just to iron out that low end fueling.

  12. OK. How did you get on with it, did it do anything for you?

  13. Yep . Loved the QS and Launch Control on the Diavel , had it mapped by x-bikes and very pleased with the tune , buttery smooth and good gains with a Remus can and airfilter
Sold the Diavel complete with the Tuneboy, QS and Cruise and suspension upgrades - was lucky to find a buyer that appreciated the mods and paid for them

Have TB installed on the MTS now - again with QS and Cruise , but using maps others have created on the dyno .
When I get around to fitting the LV decat that's sat in the garage plan to get it mapped at x-bikes

I really rate the system - and find it straightforward to install and use . Although you do need to be computer literate to install and flash your bike . I have the trim files from my Diavel to get you in the ball park / try

This is an additional kit I acquired - (won an eBay auction after ordering new kit ) you'll need a different length rod for the QS as the one I have is for the MTS , but other than that it's plug and play once you purchase a license from Tuneboy

  14. Its a map from another bike that has been dyno'd its not the same as your bike, if you go down that route you are still advised to take it to a proper tuner as it will need trimming in.
It may run to rich on your bike which is not a major issue from what I can remeber but then again it might run to lean which I think causes heat build up which can be a big problem.
