OK..its happening Before and after reports to follow. This time I'll fit the new tyres AFTER the dyno runs!
Look forward to the results, I'll be doing the same, but only after I've sourced a full Termi system!
Sorry I should have said. Full termi system and air filter installed. I think I've currently got about 133ish at the back wheel, so may be +148 afterwards?
That would be a nice bump in performance! I still have the stupid Termi end can and heavyweight monstrosity of a cat, so no point taking it in until I get rid of them. I'm more after smoother running all around (especially lower down) and coming on and off the throttle, but a healthy jump in torque and hp is always welcome!
Mines going in this coming Monday! LV decat fitted yesterday with standard silencers...... My bike has changed from a quiet pussycat to a snarling fire breathing animal! Chris at CJS said it would run a bit rough before the tune, and he's right compared to what it was. Looking forward to Chris working his magic!
Interesting to see the outcome as I think there wasn't much on other dynos as the base map and system is so much better. And the outright bhp a little down on the single spark
Think your right Bradders. Chris said the twin spark is more troublesome to tune & takes longer...he did say why but it was too technical for me & I've forgotten! Hope it's worth it as it's working out bloody expensive...... Had the decat fitted by dealer same time as the service this week....they quoted me an hour n half labour which I thought was fair enough but the mechanic had a nightmare getting the old one off and decat on.....I ended up having to take a loan bike home as he never finished it the same day! Was dreading the discussion over the bill but they settled on 21/2 hours labour when it actually took 8 hours!! They've said they wouldn't do another. Plus now I've checked my tyres & don't reckon they'll stand up to a 340 mile round trip plus whatever the dyno runs take out of them so have had to hire a van today to be on the safe side....that's another £100 gone! Add on £425 for the remap....... If the misses finds out I'm dead!!
The dyno will kill the rear tyre. I ruined a new PR4 on my last trip. I'm looking forward to the outcome on yours. Chris did have a cancellation last week, but I ws too ill for the ride down. Take a laptop with some DVD s to watch, as it will be a long day. Food in the local pub is good. Don't worry what others say about the worth of the dyno/custom mapping on the twin spark. I bet he's not even had his done and is just repeating hearsay*. Cjs is getting around 150bhp at the rear wheel quite reliably. *And that's from someone who did have it done and published the results. :Angelic:
Ideal....Thanks for the tip! At least with the van I can disappear somewhere for a while. My tyres are gonna be shredded then as they're barely legal now!
Can't wait to hear the results. He does good work Chris. The smoothness he finds alone is worth the money. My 996 is going there again soon.
Troll. Or I could have got it from one of the best ducati tuners in the UK rather than some spiv down the pub. Yep tyre with little life is perfect for the job and if anyone can work it up, Chris can. I'd imagine simply dumping the can and cat will give good gains My TS is already really smooth so if yours is same really interested in how it feels as I can't imagine it being much smoother.
Arrived at Louigi Moto at 930 & chris did his stuff, didn't leave til 4. Chris was non stop either putting the multi through the dyno runs or sat in front the lap top. Was hard to watch at times & the bike has never had a work out like that! Absolutely baffled by what he was doing but having had an hour on it tonight it was totally worth the expense and time! I don't know what the bhp figures were like to start with but with Chris' base map loaded it was 138bhp rising to 145.7 after he finished tweaking it. As we know the twin sparks aren't quite as powerful as the earlier ones but that's pretty good I reckon! Peak torque was 84.11 up from 80.41 on his base map. Having tried it tonight, the roughness has gone, it picks up smoothly from bugger all revs & I can keep a much higher gear at lower revs than I ever could before. Before the remap and with the LV decat fitted I was wandering if I did the right thing as it was a bit too anti social loud, but I'm sure Chris' work has smoothed the tone down & it sounds sweet! Loud but a deep fruity rumble that I really like! Have no doubt it's worth the effort and expense in my opinion! Thanks Chris.....top banana!
Nice info. Not the first to say the TS is less powerful but really interesting to hear it's smoother. If I decide to keep mine, thinking decat and proper can will be fitted and may have it set up too after feedback like this
I had a remap with Chris at CJS in 2012 on my single spark 2010 with K and N air filter and decat QD exhaust system It was a great improvement, and im still loving riding every minute today! Check out the peak BHP and Torque on my dyno run...
