London BikeLife | VICE | United Kingdom OK - thoughts please... Are these guys : a. Urban heroes, sticking it to the man? b. The future of biking - we should be encouraging them for their interest in bikes? c. Misunderstood (and maybe misguided) kids who just want to let off a bit of steam? d. Dangerous hooligans - it's people like them who get us all a bad name? e. All of the above... ?
I think they are probably bored shitless youngsters who happen to own a bike? At least they are getting off the sofa and having a break from playing "Getaway in Clacton on sea 7 ninja zombie crackhead warrior!"
We have a gang of these stupid fkrs round our way, one of them almost had me off my F4 a few weeks ago ! If I could have let go of the bar I probably would have elbowed him... but I'd be in the wrong then.
The law abiding youth seem not to be interested in bikes. Look at any trackday ir bike meet, its full of MAMILs (Middle Aged Men in Leather) So in one respect its good to see the younger lads so enthusiastic.. Sadly the wrong kind of enthusiasm
Nice skills. Excetly what me and my mates were doing on 50's and 125's. But on a smaller scale. Alas most are probably nicked
yip. wee all did that. i lost my license before i even got it. bombing about paisley and its back roads one day, scrambling around the woods the next. no probs. alas some are now deed through biking but nobody got mugged or robbed during the making of our story's. all good. .
They are regarded as what by the US-bike scene!?!?!...... anything americunts regard as good usually means enjoying killing others/praising death-culture & regarding 'other humans' as sub-humans. That girl or chav-female reporter is not exactly impartially reporting their antics more like she's seeing if she can influence there misbehaviour.
same as it ever was..........16 and 17 yr olds have always got up to this sort of malarky.... the only difference being that many on here are probably looking back on this from an old duffers perspective (myself included).
I don't consider them to actually be bikers. They are on little L plated scooters which are probably the cheapest vehicles they could get. Had a car been cheaper i'm sure they'd be doing doughnuts in the local Asda car park instead. What annoys me is when they are classed as bikers and we are therefore tarred with the same brush as kids popping the front up on scooters on their way to deal some weed.
..hold on, all is forgiven if they have copious amounts of mind blowing/pain relaxing/laughter inducing skunk!
I'm trying to see myself as young again but struggling with my mummy views Great idea especially doing them up from scratch what made me cringe and want to complain is the antics on the road/motorways I don't recall scooters in my day wheeling up the road and we messed about down the disused railway line Other than that knobs springs to mind grrr
Thanks for your thoughts so far... "hooligans" appears to be the most popular view. Is that because we can't remember what it was like when we were that age? Have we all become "bah-humbug" old duffers?
