Hi, does anyone have the above cable kicking about in their garage that they may want to sell to me? Just bought the bike, but doesn’t have the cable.....That’ll be a number 4....!
Problem is that an old cycle cable won’t feed out under the seat as the eyes have thick plastic around them meaning you can’t lock the seat probably .
Agreed, but the original cable is so shit that it can very easily be cut so is very insecure. No way would I leave my helmet attached with it. Better off with a short decent chain that can attach to bike.
You could quite probably improvise one using net curtain wire and hooks, painted black, obvs! But in all honesty it’s a bit of nonsense really.
Pretty sure that I've got one. I'll check when I next go in the garage. Never used and maybe off my Monster or a ST2/3 but I think that they are all the same. I can post it to you for free is you send me name and address.
It's obviously useless as an anti-theft device — but OK as an alternative to carrying it around with you at locations where helmet theft unlikely (stops in country villages, etc.)
Quite frankly theft happens outside conurbations too. Would I leave £500 on my bike loosely attached for someone to have, which is effectively what your doing. Better off with a helmet bag and take it with you. I say this as someone who has had a helmet stolen from the bike and would not repeat that mistake again.
Used it many times, never had a problem as it saves the helmet touching the dirty floor. Most of my time in rural France I just leave the lid on the mirror (Shuberth with integrated coms worth around £800) and it has never been touched. Would never do that in the UK though.
