GOOD EVENING DUCATISTI!! I’m a student from the University of Essex (UK). I’m making a research project on brand communities and I have decided to address to the great Ducati family. I would like to ask some questions designed to investigate the nature of your community, and for those who want can answer those you wish. 1) What values / symbolic meanings are behind the Ducati brand? 2) The characteristics of a typical Ducatista (lifestyle, sports tastes, which events are sacred, etc ..) 3) There are different levels of Ducatista? 4) Why Ducati is better than other brands? 5) Some special, unique, memories related to Ducati 6) How your passion impact in your daily life? Simple phrases are enough to encompass the concept. For those who are so kind and helpful to contribute to my research, I would appreciate very much and I send a huge thank you.
Another set of questions for you guys Ducati owners have become interesting topics it seems at uni ompus:
Hello, 1) can't think of any values really, other than Ducati used to make radios, and I like radios. 2) I would like to think of myself as typical ducatista, the kinda guy who stops listening to his girlfriend mid sentence if he hears the distant rumble of a L twin, a snappy dresser and follower of the latest Italian fashion. Also I like darts.. on tv.. a lot. 3) yeah of course there's those who buy all the new gadgets and gear an stuff, then there's those who like to pop the wheelies in tee shirts, tight jeans showing white socks with their tasseled boat shoes, to impress the ladies, you understand.. 4) because it has a prancing horse on the bonnet of course.. Oh hang on, that's another Italian brand. 5) fell off the back of one once and it was just as painfull as falling off off the back of my friends X7 ( Japanese, inferior brand) 6) racked with insecurity/ paranoia , where do I park it in town? do I need an anchor for my garage floor? Is the garage too damp in winter? Do I need to cover it in a act50? Joining a forum and taking part in futile conversations coupled with Is it going to break down? Is it worth all this hassle? Wouldn't a car be more suitable, wife thinks so, but when you're popping that wheelie and waving at the ladies those 20 seconds of pleasure really pay off. Best kind of research is practice. !
1. Sex appeal. We all think that hot birds will drooll over our L twins. 2. Likes Rugby fast cars and above all fast bikes. Some of us like women but not compulsary. 3. No if you got one you are one. 4. Nothing else has that charisma. Faster better build quality but still not a Ducati. 5. First time I rode my first Ducati. 1098s on the roads around Romsey. 6. Keeps me poor and bores the wife to death. Regards Steve
