Upmap/downmap?? Termi’s

  1. I’ve tried a couple of other FB groups before consulting you gurus but with no real joy, so I hope you ‘aficionados’ can help, definitively, not just guesswork
My 2014 1199, came with Termi end cans and I believe has been upmapped, hence the ‘Racing’ logo on the dash. It runs fine, no complaints, it’s a MEGA bike:heart: :imp:
However, I was thinking of fitting the standard cans back on and selling the Termi’s separately. So how do I get the bike back to run the standard map, like it came from the factory?

The original upmap key/dongle is not available (and from what I can gather it’s a one way upgrade anyway, you can go up but not down or back to standard), it is one time use on that specific bike so it may just as well be thrown away after upmapping since you can’t do anything more with it, if what I’m told is correct)
So, is there a dongle/key with a standard map you can attach when the standard cans are fitted back on? Or does it need dealer intervention to reprogramme the bike bike back to factory settings?

Loads of you guys must have put fancy exhausts and systems on your bikes, just for show or for track and then removed them to sell, so there must be a known route to put it back to factory?
Many thanks in advance, oh brethren of superior wisdom! ;):D

  2. The process is two-way. However, to restore the stock map you need the UpMap dongle originally used.

  3. it was Richard at Luigi Moto Ducati specialist that told me it was ‘one way’ and after install you just as well chuck it away  they’ll put it on a dyno an re flash it to standard, £400-£450 :astonished:
Sadly I don’t have the Upmap dongle and no chance of getting it, was 2 owners previous. Spoke to Ducati dealer today, Moto Rapido and they say the ONLY way now is to book it in and get the ECU reprogrammed to standard, about £300 :worried:
