Why are so many bikes on eBay upside down? Are people trying to sell them just after crashing? 2005 YAMAHA YZF R1 2006 RED | eBay Suzuki GXSR1100 WP | eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-HONDA-BLUE-/281752532004?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4199c27424
By turning the photo upside, you can circumvent a feature of the brain that prevents you from otherwise spotting errors in the picture. In brief: Right-side-up means the eye (the brain) sees what should be there in the photo - the brain fills in the gaps and "corrects" mistakes by referring to what experience tells you what is normally there. Upside-down means the eye (the brain) sees what's actually there in the photo - the brain is having to evaluate an unusual image as bikes are normally not upside-down* and so takes in the details "without prejudice". * I have had an upside-down bike in the past, it was a rather unusual (and painful) experience
Was he having a laugh. This sounds like the 1st day on the job for the new apprentice, where you send him to the stores for "Tartan Paint" or "A long stand". I remember a welder at work saying he could put a "Cold weld" on a petrol tank and I couln't wait to see how it was done.
no idea, brian fair was his name worked for a lot of the Glasgow based news papers. should know his stuff.
I nearly said that but thought no, far too obvious - I'll wait for more witty responses, then yours came along
