V-twin Addict

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Bertus58, Dec 18, 2018.

  1. Hello to you all.

I'm writing to you from below sea level, The Netherlands ;)
Riding motorcycles from my early twenties, had a few bikes
At this moment I am driving a Yamaha MT-01 (2007) Drove 60.000Km's with it till now.
Last August a Multistrada 1260S joined the party :innocent:
The misses was complaining about the seating on the back of the MT, So I found a easy solution :p
It had to be a V-Twin, I love V-Twin engines. Was a easy choice.
Till now I did (do) al maintenance and repairs myself of all bikes I own(ed) and bikes from friends and family.
Now I am changing the gearing of the Multi, new 15 silent sprocket, new supersprox 42 black rear and a new DID 530 Silver/Sliver chain (116 links)

  2. welcome bertus58, nice looking bikes! Are they put away during winter?

  3. Yes, when they start putting salt on the roads I am gone :D
I am not a "sunshine only" driver, rain etc does not bother me but salt...
Also the insurance is stopped from end of November till first of March, so I am not allowed to hit the road :innocent:
I use the winter time to treat the bikes :p

60k is a good effort on the MT, how’s reliability been?

  7. No problem of any kind till now, the engine is rock solid.
Things that occur now and then (what I read in fora) is loosing parts and broken wiring because of the massive vibrations. That is why I will never sell that bike
About loosing parts, when you pay attention to the workshop manual, regarding Loctite and tightening torques, you will not lose parts. At least I did not :p
