V2 V2 Rear Hub Nut Socket Recommendations

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by dazthephot, Aug 8, 2022.

  1. Hi All,

another sodding puncture in my rear Corsa II tyre so I'll have to get the back wheel off. Is there a consensus on a socket to use or will a standard 55mm 12 point socket do? I've seen wild prices from £15 - £65 dependant on choice.

    Thanks

  2. Any will do. Impact socket would be my choice if buying new but really doesn’t matter. They pop up time to time on eBay for cheap as chips prices.

  3. I've had several, both for MV and Ducati MTS (different sizes). Best one for regular use on the Multistradas, IMHO, is from Laser. Works with impact wrench without issue. Fairly heavy though. Also has socket for front wheel built in. Both have bore guides to help align and stabalise the socket whilst in use.

Don't believe pricing on Laser website, can be purchased for <£30 off of ebay inc. delivery.

The alloy ones tend to gradually destroy themselves with use.
