if anyone is unaware of the V4 throttle spacer kit then I would highly recommend a look at I bought it direct from Kevin, posted to U.K. arrived few days later, genuinely a 10 minute fit and oh my, at low speeds it is a different beast and really makes a difference. No more hand cramp and positive throttle from the get go
I’ve bitten my tongue too long on this.........I honestly can’t understand how some people can’t use a throttle properly and smoothly and get taken in by this crap. Or am I missing something?
I agree. On the Kawasaki forum it is full of people moaning about snatchy throttles. I have never noticed it - nor on the Duke, Triumph etc etc. Some are fly by wire, some cable'd. Makes no difference. Calibrate your wrist. Oh, and also the cost of these 'kits' is bonkers - I see on other threads people resort to zip tie ends to cure the problem (if they have one that is).
But thats not the issue ET. Its not about using the throttle ‘properly’ as you say. It is about removing the slack, which is annoying. I’ve simply removed an annoyance cheaply. Which appears to have annoyed you. What better advertisement is there? Ner
Well that set the world alight with comments, El Toro yes you are missing something....It’s not about a snatchy throttle its doesn’t have one, or learning to ride properly and it’s fine on track or hooning down through the Black Forest. It’s about trying to comfortably ride a 200+bhp V4 through a town or any mega low speed which it’s not designed to do but we do it. Even the smallest gnats cock amount of throttle take up is a pain in the arse, especially on a fly by wire throttle it’s more understandable on a cable set up. It just gives positive response from the get go. I’m not a salesman for the product, but I’ve road mine with and with out it and I’m telling you it’s just better at very low speeds
IMO lumpy low speed is nothing to do with that. That can be resolved with a different sized sprocket. You have been sold snake oil IMO. But if the "placebo effect" works for you then great
You are definitely missing the point, it’s not even lumpy and to say that emphasises it. If you ran two side by side you would chose the one with no initial take up slack no matter how small, I guarantee it, and if you didn’t it would just be weird
Let’s agree to disagree, life’s too short. We love bikes that’s all that really matters But yes I am right
As posted before. Hellerman rubbers. from local electrical suppliers. Like these all sizes & just cut to length. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HELLERMA...197234&hash=item4398effa43:g:6cIAAOxy9eVROAim
Couldn't agree more ... My bike was a pig in city traffic , and I knew from the first week of owning it that I wasn't going to be able to live with it . A quick sprocket change smoothed it all out . So I lost a little on top speed , but I won with improved acceleration , and no more constant gear changing in town . Double bonus as far as I'm concerned .
Hi FE, I believe it’s an informal noun originating in the vernacular of American Black English from the mid 60s, meaning ‘from very the beginning’. If your in the market I’d happily sell you one £9.99 e.g. “I knew from the get go they were gullible”
