Hi all, Very close to signing on the line and saying goodbye to the 959 - however with my short arse legs I found myself tippytoes or leaning alot on 1 leg when stopping on the V4S which was not overly comfortable/confidence inspiring - other than that smashing bike! . Is there any adjustment? I was riding it in street mode so assume it was sprung soft as it can be. Thoughts/Advice please.... And "No" I dot have any Cuban riding heels
Street mode doesn't change the spring preload though does it? My understanding was with the EC2 Suspension it alters the compression and rebound electronically. if you only want to take 5mm off the ride height then perhaps you can adjust it via spring pre-load to sit with more static sag at both ends providing you aren't so heavy that you then end up bottoming the suspension out, but I wouldn't have thought you can dial much more than this out without really compromising the ride and handling. More extreme than that would be a rear linkage change, as it's not a tie bar like on the 1299, and is a triangular linkage (from what I've seen) this would mean replacing the plates. Interesting to see though whether you can lower the front forks in the yokes without running into issues with tyre clearance to the fairing as this was REALLY tight on the 959/899
I spoke to Kais about this when I was considering the V4S.......in short (see what i did there? )........they could lower it by 50mm in theory BUT the belly pan would also drop closer to the ground by 50mm so that could cause problems. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
Im a whole 5’8 and skinny / ie good dry weight and adjusted the 959 via the spring to ease it off - so assume the B4 will be the same. Will ask the dealer as some research shows same height 959 and V4 at 830 so all being well ..... BTE its officially ordered today excited
