Missing my 916, but would like to own another 900ss have been on e-bay little overpriced imo, would consider a project bike, as my riding days are less and less these days and i enjoy the spannering side of it, keeps the mind and fingers going don't you know. WHY

You may be better off looking at a looked after example for a little more money. There was a project one on ebay last month I went to have a look at. Nothing massive wrong with it but stored for 17 years and the elements had got to it. I roughly totalled £1000 worth of bits to bring it up to a reasonable tidy bike. After discussing he would have ended the auction early at £1500 which to me seemed marginal given the hours that would have needed spending. The auction ended at £2001. Definitely a labour of love at that price.
Thanks Geoff, i must have missed that one, £1500 for a project would be about where i am . As stated the restoration would be massive thing for me as i get a real pleasure in bringing something back to life, where i live within a radius of about 25 miles i can source most of the specialist services that i cannot achieve.
