Wanted: M9 Left Hand Thread Nut With Fine 1mm Pitch

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Borgo Panigale, Oct 12, 2018.

  1. Does anyone know where I might get one of these? I've tried just about every nut n bolt merchant and most do not carry M9, let alone with added complexities outlined above...

Rebuilding a 100cc Ducati Cadet and need this nut for one end of the crank

    Help!

    Thanks

  2. How about using a smaller bore nut (M8? or maybe an imperial size?) and re-tapping it with a M9 x 1.00 LH tap?

  3. Good idea, thanks Derek

  4. That sounds suspiciously like the lh threaded nut used to hold vespa flywheels on. May be worth checking.

  5. Thanks for that Bootsam, I spotted one for sale, phoned the seller, but he insisted it wasn’t left hand/reverse thread - didn’t make much sense to me, so I left it. I’ll try someone else at the Classic Bike Show at Stafford tomorrow

    Thanks again

  6. A Google search shows the Vespa nut to be 12mm X 1.00 and LH thread

  7. It must be like the Cadet, M12 one end, M9 the other. On the Cadet, however, it’s the M9 that’s LHT and the M12 RHT
