999 Warning Light And Battery Issue.

  1. Hi all

I have just bought a 2003 999. Battery was almost flat, now i have tried charging, the display reads Hi for the battery, then the engine warning light comes on. Battery goes flat extremely quickly.
I am thinking both the battery and the regulator are knackered.
    Any advice?
    Steve

  2. I'd start with the simple and get a new battery. It's amazing how often it's a battery.

  4. was this the bike on eBay last week?

  5. Yes, it was, I bought it . it had an issue with the Regulator Rectifier, so i had a new genuine Ducati one fitted. The bike is now all sorted and runs great. Trouble is, i dont find it at all comfortable, its not suited to me! I had a full check of the bike at Moto Rapido, bike is all good now. i need a tad more comfort at my age!

  6. Is 50 a mis-print then??

Met a guy the other day who rides a 50s BSA 650, which of course has no electric start.

    He's 87...
