What is happening with modern day Brembo discs.. Last month I was working on a low mileage 696 monster with a juddering front brake, removed discs, cleaned mating surfaces, cleaned discs, new pads, no improvement it still had the bouncing front end when coming to a stop. New EBC discs and result was perfect, result Now a 3 yr old low mileage Desert x with exactly the same issue, bouncing front end on coming to a stop, measured disc runout with dial gauge, only 0.1 mm on each disc, doesn’t sound like a lot but guess it’s enough. Looks like more new discs required. Brembo discs certainly don’t seen as good on these modern bikes, I have 30 yr old bikes with Brembo’s and they are still perfect! Is Brembo made in China now
Big issue on the ktm range of adventure bikes. Some dealers used to replace them under warranty with the better quality Brembo ORO discs and the bike owner could pay the difference. I guess Brembo factory fit o/e supplied are not the quality they used to be.
