Going through the factory cooling system at present replacing all factory rubber radiator hoses, unions and metal delivery fillers (lips) with their original factory replacements (luckily still in production) as items of preemptive maintenance. After a good twenty two years of use in the enclosed engine bay of the 998S, the factory rubber radiator hoses - though somewhat hardened at places - are still very much usable and with much life yet in them, with no absolutely no signs of cracks or leaks. After some thought, I've decided to stick with the rubber radiator hoses for the next decade ahead rather than go for the Samco silicon ones. In terms of cost, I must say however that the new factory rubber radiator hoses were slightly more than the Samco silicon ones. Unfortunately the picture was much different with the once shiny gold anodised metal delivery fillers/lips of the water pump cover and of the generator, the outer part of all of which deteriorated significantly by rust, making it a task to remove them safely and in one piece. New ones are still available to order by the factory, yet with the factory having long dismissed the anodising process from all its nuts, bolts and metal parts. With the radiator dismounted for cleaning, thought it was a good time to take, and pencil down, some measurements, as some folks may find them useful. All length measurements are in centimetres, and weight measurements in grams. I apologise in advance for the prescription style hand writing.
