Sitting at my desk at lunchtime munching on last weeks cottage pie in a bit of Tupperware I was watching random YT vids and happened to watch the one with MCN having a pop on Tito Rabat's Moto2 bike which then beckoned the question....how do they get a go on one? Do they pay a shed load of cash to get an arse on the seat? Is it only members of the press, journo's other racers that get a go? and in turn I was then thinking if I won the lottery (euro millions jackpot big style type thing and money was no object) could I just roll up to Kwak HI and say "ive got unlimited cash - give us a go on Tom Sykes's zx10 (for example) and theres an extra 100k if he changes the tyres when I pit...!" Or, is this level of machinery totally off limits to the regular (if not financially endowed) Joe? or does money talk....pie in the sky thought... I will also add to this as I was at a party yesterday and caught up with a mate who manages to blag some fucking amazing stuff/gets into places/manages to tag along...ie he was at Suzuka classic this year spannering on Mr Schwantz's rg500 and also got a gig working on MD's xr69.....so from his point of view its a case of who ya know....from his point of view anyway...but if you didn't - could you literally buy your way into something...?
One thing he did says to me yesterday is that you "have to stay on the radar" it seems photographers seem to be able to "get him in to places"...
