Great insight. http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/883505/1/26million-a-moto2-budget Dorna give €2.5m per rider in MGP?
Talking to one of the sponsors at Oulton BSB and he recons you would have to put up 40k to get a ride on a 600 in that series. Hardly any of the riders are making a living apparently Dan Linfoot still drives a van through the week !
Suspect only a handful make a living at it. The rest simply have no race costs, but have to pay their mortgages with jobs.
Advice is go in field burn the entire contents of your wallet and repeatedly hit yourself in the face with a brick. It will be cheaper and less painful From memory Paul Denning gave the advice.
Couple of guys sharing my garage this week that run in Thunderbikes, reckoned it costs around 17K a season not including any crash damage
