What Does This Screw Do?

  1. 697377C1-C2F8-4612-BF50-625033D45B57.jpeg I was tidying up the wiring around my engine earlier (various wires not secured and in contact with the cylinder heads, can’t be a good thing), anyway I noticed a bit of oil on the fins on the rear cylinder head, closer look it’s coming out around what looks like a grub screw in the cylinder head, it turns easily with a screwdriver but before I tighten it I’d like to know what it does?, is it just a blank ?, thanks Mark

  2. Yes, in a way a blank, it’s an oil gallery sealing plug.

  3. Thanks Chris, I thought it must be but my manual has gone AWOL so I wasn’t able to check, I’ll clean it off and apply a very small amount of thread lock to the last couple of threads when I tighten it back in.
