What Ground Anchor Chain Combo?

  1. What are the options to secure a bike that is kept at home but on the side of the drive out of view. Just want to have the bike less liftable so am thinking ground anchor bolted to floor and chain

Dont want to have a dig a hole and set the anchor in concrete so ideally fixes to the ground (concrete) using bolts or something else

Its just for a few months so ideally the anchor can be removed with minimal making good

  2. Hiplok dx1000 and hiplok ground anchor. Expensive but worth it imo.

  3. Have a look at the Bennetts review web site. I usually go there for ideas. Andy

  4. i drilled a hole, 16mm into the concrete drive and then screwed a scaffolding eye in it with a crow bar, its very solid, about 20mm thick

chains locks etc spend a lot

  5. Is the scaffolding eye hardened steel?

  6. Hiplok DX1000 as above and if you need a chain - Hiplok Mega 22mm Chain is one of the cheapest 22mm chains - also use it with either their Anchor (no chain) or a Pragmasis Mega Torq Anchor. Pragmasis also do 19 and 22mm chains too.... but mainly out of stock. Cheapest Place for Hiplok Chain is Amazon. I have bought 3 DX1000 From Motolegends - using their 10% Price Beat - I managed to find them on offer at Infinity for £270 and then they beat it by 10%..... £243.

I use the Hiplok on the Front Wheel - With a Mega Chain and MegaTorq Anchor on Multi (need Chain as Bike is Stored on Hydraulic Lift) and 19mm Chain - Anti Pinch Pin and Mega Anchor on the Rear.

I use a similar Set Up for the Scrambler - but DX1000 Straight through the Torq Anchor and wheel at Front and a Chain through Wheel and Torq Anchor and Abloy Padlock at Rear.

The KTM 390 SMC R will be done the same way as the Scrambler - But may need an Anti Pinch Pin Too - due to Spoked Wheels and maybe not enough room for the chain (bike arrives end week).
