Saw an ebay listing for a 92 ss750, got in touch with the seller asking for abit more info including reg so i could do a hpi and mileage/mot check. The seller gave me a bit of info but no reg number, he just said it was hpi clear 6 years ago. Great , ok, thanks for that....asked again for the reg, then again and then once more, all to no avail. If it checked out i would have been willing to bid a few hundred more than it went for! I don't get it, especially when one of the pics showed another bike which apparently be up for sale soon with the number late clearly visable!
I know what you mean but eBay is littered with people not too dissimilar. When I get this reaction I tend to assume they have something to hide and then just back off from any prospective buy. Caveat Emptor and so far I have found this to be true. It's too easy to come a cropper when eBay seems more and more littered with "undesirables", eBay don't really help that much either.
Tried to buy a motorhome of eBay the site seems to be infested with scamers and dodgy robbing shits. The worrying and annoying thing eBay know it's going on they know who they are and the methods they use but don't do anything about it
There was a thing on the bbc a week or so ago about ebay sellers selling fake goods, even after the buyer had written proof from the real manufacturer ebay still refused/neglected to remove the account! Some of them where power sellers too!
