1200 DVT What Next?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Origin unknown, Aug 6, 2015.

  1. What do people reckon?

    1299cc DVT in 2017?
Or a Pikes Pike-style premium version later this year or early next year.

I'm planning to change my 2013S in April.

Ducati, like every other manufacturer, has to keep the money rolling in ... and I'm happy to help!

  2. PP as new engine men's new free and they have just done that.

Reckon next step more likely to be increased cc with same motor

  3. Quick shifter on the next one?

When would the next model year be? I thought the 2016 is already out, so this is it until July / August next year.

  4. Try this for a scenario. The 2015 DVT Multistrada continues largely unchanged until 2017, then there is a slightly updated version for 2018-19. A new, extensively updated Multi arrives for 2020. In the meantime the DVT engine is rolled out to the Diavel in 2016. Additional MTS versions are launched each year: a Touring oriented version in 2016, an Adventure version in 2017, and a super-expensive upmarket gold-plated version in 2018.

  5. dont think they will bother with a pikes peak as they didnt win it this year they might just call it a r or something

  6. Maybe the Carbon or SE

  7. I hate how people are whimsically wishing away the years. Next year is 2016,..

  8. Might be worth waiting for. PP may be at the end if the road as Ducati did not win the most recent race did they?

  9. I agree but if it brings a new bike ...

  10. I think they will leave it exactly the same until 2018 with a whole new model ready for me to trade in for :)

  11. I'd like to see some extra performance in the upcoming models considering that the older model lacks 10hp and it's still faster. This bike's top speed should be closer to 280kph instead of 250kph.
It is obvious also that in the upcoming model they should get rid of all the annoying bugs that the current model has.
I am also wondering why on earth they don't exploit that pricy TFT display and enable integrated navigator with the switch of a button like in the Augusta Turismo Veloce.

  12. so. The new bike has more testable power, less or very similar weight and is slower? On what measure? A decatted and custom mapped older multi vs a new factory fully catted and restricted one? Interested to know where that statement comes from

  13. I agree. Would be interesting. But I'm struggling to imagine where I'd need 280kph as I only ride on public roads. For me getting to 180/190kph quickly and being able to hold it there safely and comfortably, while still being able to handle the twisty stuff at lower speeds, is much more important.
And the MTS is easily the best bike I've owned or ridden by that yardstick.

  15. It's called word from mouth to mouth -forums and plenty of videos on YouTube from the older models adding personal experience from my own DVT. All specs look nice on paper however the ultimate verdict is given on the road and so far I see my bike's juices finishing after 240kph. One could argue the necessity of extra speed claiming the DVT to be a tourer however that wasn't Ducati's argument when they presented the bike back in November where they claimed it to be a superbike. Having said that of course I love the midrange and quick acceleration, but we need to call things with their name and when it comes to top speed there's space for improvement.

  16. That bike looks awesome! :Hungry:

  17. Actually measured or bum opinion? Take ear plugs put, it 'feels' far faster if yiu normally wear them. Have a fuelling issue at 4k, 'feels' like a power band and faster but its not

  18. My mts has the full termi, mwr air filter and mapped by CJS and I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the standard DVT 1200s I test rode,
I think with the same mod's it will have potential ;)
