Sadly, my body and the calendar seem to be telling me it's about time to hang up my leathers, so... I have a very good condition, highly original, 851 SP3. It's had one previous owner and has covered just shy of 20k miles; it's just had a belt change, thorough check-over and MoT by Neil Ridgeway (late of Made In Italy Motorcycles) who gave it a clean bill of health. If I do decide to sell, what do people think it's worth??? Thanks Andrew
Unfortunately in today's climate, about 50-75% of what it was worth 2 years ago, if auctions and general sales of older bikes are anything to go by.
That's a beautiful bike, seen one on ebay for sub £12k recently..prices really on there heads at moment. Really not sure if it's because interest rates are higher or the age of potential owners causing dwindling potential buyers.
I owned a 851 back in the 90's possibly the best sports bike i've ridden, I guess a sp3 ore so. Aging bikers, not sure I could ride a sports bike these days not for very long anyway. Road surfaces are terrible, even my Scramblers isn't that great much prefer my supermoto as the sussers just soak up the road.
I keep looking at a Desert X and think it would be a lot more enjoyable on kind of roads I ride. The way prices are going I'd probably struggle to shift my 916sps to pay for it.
Lovely thing! No idea what the value would be or what it might sell for but I hope it goes for a good price. GLWS.
I can’t get past the front light. I’d have to put a race nose on with hole for a couple of single round lamps! Other than that I think they’re beautiful!
That is really cheap. Over here in europe a good 888 strada is 8-10.000€ these days. Any SP is 15.000 and up. Henk!!!
There are alternatives for that, not gonna post pictures in this topic. But google ducati 888 carbon endurance pods. I'm also busy mount these at my 888 at tbe moment. Henk!!!
Oddly didn’t get much of a result for that but did see an endurance racer with those pods - I like! Sorry for going OT - GLWS for the OP. Acronyms aplenty!
I'd have ago around £15k, seems very reasonable price for a quite rare bike . It's a tough gig out there at the moment, even that mob in Sheffields prices are starting to get more reasonable.
Tis a lovely thing, Iconic Auctions offer a free valuation service, they gave my scruffy monster a £2k reserve which I thought was fair. Online Valuation for vintage Motorcycles
