Which chain lube....

  1. Any recommendations on a chain cleaning and lubricating products to use? Is the Wurth products any good?

  2. I used to use Wurth Dry chain lube then I switched to Castrol but I'll go back to Wurth... less messy.

  3. Wurth dry chain lube.... for cleaning and lubing

  4. Don't fit a scottoiler...............

  5. I quite like muc off chain lube. If you let it dry before riding you get hardly any being thrown all over the back wheel.

  6. Have used Wurth & Muc Off dry lube, both seem good.

  7. Have tried many, agip, wurth ,muc off I,have taken the scott oiler off,now use and will only use castrol racing lube, superb,no fling at all, does not seem to attract loads of grit like the other lubes, and stays good for along time, just awesome stuff.

  8. Motul chain paste is my current choice. The simple fact that it comes in a toothpaste type tube, with a paint brush type applicator makes it my favourite at present. It goes where i want it - the chain! - and not where i don't - the wheel, swingarm, my clothing, eyes....

  9. Never used any other than Motul dry spray and have no reason to change.

  10. Wurth or similar dry lube as a cleaner and lubricant every 300-400 miles, very little mess and the wear on alloy sprockets is better than any steel ones I have used (with conventional lubes like spray and tub waxes or sticky sprays). Except for a pre winter lay up spray I will never use anything else as it is so much better and cleaner than the rest.

  11. I use Motul Factory Line lube. Very good and gives little fling whilst luring very well. Personally, the dry lubes are fine if you want zero mess, but offer little in the way of lube and protecting the o rings.

  12. Didn't get on with Wurth so now use Silcolene titanium... Seems to keep the chain lubed better for longer.

  13. +1 for Wurth Dry chain lube

  14. Have tried many many over the years and with out a shadow of doubt the best one for the last few years is the wurth one. Nothing
worse than all the other ones which throw all the oil over your lovely clean bike. Don't waste your time or money buying anything else except the Wurth one.

  15. Tried em all over the yrs bar the wurth & found the castrol lube best. Silkolene is good to a point - but way to flingy..

  16. Like they all said ---- Tried most of the others and prefer the Wurth dry lube.

  17. Wurth, because it actually works. I took advice from a friend who swears by the stuff and uses it on his Hayabusa. His chains last for absolutely ages and his bike has raked up a starship mileage. Who am I to argue with first-hand evidence ?

  18. I was using Profi dry lube for the last few years and previous to that I used the Wurth dry stuff for ages. Then for some reason when I needed a new can when I got the 848 I bought Rock Oil lube. It flings bloody everywhere. And sprays basically the whole bike behind the engine. So it's getting binned and I'm going back to the Profi lube and when that runs out I'll either get more or go back again to the Wurth.

The dry stuff is so much cleaner but the chain never looks in good nick with it, just dry and dirty. I'd rather that than it gets flung all over the bike and I have to painstakingly clean it all off.

Didn't remember it being this expensive though.

  19. For me there is only one...Castrol Chain Wax. Tried most things and keep going back to this.
