Asking for a "friend ". When you're on "track" Have you found that you need to wind up the ride height by 10mm to stop slipping off the back past 130mph and lose loading to the front tyre? If you don't find that to be the answer how have you stopped the backwards shift? E.G. prefered dropping the forks through.
Not got a 1098SF but first questions would be: - Have you set up front and rear sag? - Have you reset all damping to factory spec? - Have you checked forks are correctly set to factory geometry? - Is the chain eccentric in the correct quadrant per manual?
Good suggestions sir: Yes set the rear at 27mm Front to 33mm Set compression to factory track settings (as my body is currently not in race trim and they are for a less "equipped" person) and moved this slightly towards the road as was a little like a rattle box Should have put those bits in to start with I race in mini twins (taken a break for two years now unfortunately hence a road bike) used to track an 848 back in the day too so am very on the suspension side of nerd. But have found different bikes respond better to different ways of achieving results. So more precisely am looking to see if people have found dropping though a better idea or ride height raise to keep weight forward in times of enthusiasm?
Thanks, it has so far……. I’ve left every bike I’ve ever owned as it came from the factory/dealer, I don’t ride well enough that the suspension appears to be a problem. The only bike I have that has been set up is my Monster which is set for a 70 kilo rider which is my weight also. I may try my MV adjustments and see if I can ‘improve’
