Winter gloves

  1. Can anyone recommend winter gloves ?
    Main priority is warmth .
I hardly ride in winter but my current Spada gloves are inly good for about 15-20 miles .They seemed adequate with my previous bike but i dont think the 999 fairing helps with the ducts in the upper fairing directing air onto your hands (or thats how it appears )
Are there any links to product reviews ?
    Thanks

  2. Hi. I ride all year and come the bad weather I use Alpinestars Jet Road Goretex. Never leaked, comfortable, not too bulky and warm enough for the -6 stuff we had earlier this year, and cold isn't an issue in the current weather. Now I'm not saying my hands are all toasty, they aren't, but I've never had to stop to warm my hands up like with previous gloves.
I've used them with heated grips in the past and could ride all day without even needing the hottest setting.
If you think it's air being ducted to your hands, tape over the holes in winter. I tape up every vent on my helmet in winter so nothings getting in.
I think the BIKERS WORLD site gives reviews on it's products but I could be wrong.

  3. Try some thin merino wool glove liners, you should be able to pick some up for under a tenner and they make a huge difference.

  4. Ah you mean like our bed stuff !
i will (wool ? ) look intoit , serious about bedding ect .

  5. I ride all year round and in the winter I use Alpinstar 365's not much thicker than their GP Pro's but waterproof and do keep my hands warmer.

    Gaz

  6. Infinity are doing merino liners for 9.99 too. I'm getting some of those

  7. Can't beat my Gerbings XR12 heated gloves for warmth.

  8. Rukka R-Star Goretex. They have a thermal divider layer across the middle of the glove so you can decide if you want extra warmth on your palm or on the backs of your hands by putting your hand in one side of the other.

I had some AlpineStars Jet Road Goretex before them and they only lasted 4 winters (winter use only) and weren't that warm.

  9. The alpinestars jet road goretex gloves are excellent.

  10. Big winter glove test in the latest Ride magazine
