How long do you leave your bike for over winter without running it? Mine was last run in October, so I'm hoping my mate can take it for a run before the tax runs out at the end of January. I think I'm going to SORN it, re taxing at the start of April, but I will have 6 months tax on it over summer. The plan is to SORN when that expires in october, re taxing in Feb 2014 when I will be able to ride it again.
Mine is taxed for the full year to Aug 2013 (came with the OTR price of the bike). Last rode the beauty at end Nov (cum miles 750 from when I picked her up in Sept). Will ride her again as soon as work commitments and weather allow!
I was out on mine about two weeks ago and will be again as soon as the roads are clean (or should I say farm tracks?) even if there is frost and snow....... ...as long as it means I don't have to clean tons of cr*p off it, I don't mind using it...... OK, so it is 15 years old, but I would be the same if it was new yesterday...... .....Rain, I don't really mind although I avoid it when I can, but mud and horse sssh, that's a no-no. AL
Mine will be getting a belt and shim service in autumn anyway. Did the belts last December, and done 4000 since. It will do a minimal mileage this year, so I'm mire concerned with not leaving the belts distorted through standing than the mileage on them. 2014 will be back to regular riding.
