Never wanted one really back in the day, but now it’s nearly a classic I took the plunge and I absolutely love it. Problem is, I can’t stop upgrading The work so far!! (I’m now addicted to Titanium.....HELP!!!!!)
What are the Promotive like? I bought some 45mm for my 996 but it turned out I had a 50mm system so sold without ever fitting. Apparently they are LOUD!
What is the engine stand you are using? I’m keen to get one, or have one made, for the next tear-down of my bike.
Love what you're doing. I've a 996S in a similar situation which is gradually being cleaned and upgraded. Where did you get your rearsets from, trying to source a set myself.
Got them from a guy in Germany on eBay, just keep looking mate, they’ll turn up! Managed to get a as new pair of corse, carbon heal plates off eBay too!
Wooly, Included in your photos is one which identifies what is usually the oldest identifiable date of manufacture of the bike, that of the frame assembly, in this case 18 Oct 2001. Very few folks seem to notice that date stamp on their bike and are surprised when they see it and realize how old the bike really is.
Love the Promotive cans. Bought a 748 with a set on, sold the bike but couldn’t bare to part with the cans, still got them! Yes they are fantastically LOUD !!! Have fond memories of my daughter when she was 6 uncontrollably sobbing for 1/2hr when I started the bike up, lol (wicked dad I know ).
It’s actually a factory monoposto, as I contacted Ducati before I bought it. I asked about the subframe and was pretty much told that whatever was lying around in the factory it got put on!! It’s got factory plastic blanking plugs for where the rear footrests would’ve gone on a biposto! You’ve gotta love Ducati!!!!
