Does anyone know if it's possible to fit wire wheels to an M600 ? Yes, I know anything can be done with enough time and money... But are there any wheels that are compatible without too much major surgery ? Basically as long as the hubs fit, the rest is not too much of a problem... Or, even better, has anyone actually got a pair of wheels that will fit ? Cheers guys !
Honestly no idea, but if I were to tackle this I think id be looking for a set of late triumph bonneville wheels, as its probably a good starting point size wise (provided the front is a 17")
The Sport Classics use different front brake calipers (thinner on inside, fixed pads) to clear spokes.
There recently was a set of new Carbon-fibre-rim spoked Monster wheels on ebay. Don't remember the price but you just know that a mod like that won't be cheap...
Alpina wheels are said to be a straight fit in most cases. They are pricey though: Ducati Alu street wheels
Sports classic wheels can be fitted but you need to get a bit machined off the inside of the front calipers to clear the spokes.
I used to run Monster S4 5 spoke wheels on my old PS sport classic. There was no machining needed, all I did was use the same brake discs and brake callipers that came with the wheels and the spacers /sprocket carrier that came with the SC. So the reverse should in theory work for Monster (note will need to be same axle diameters as the S4 monster) or to put it another way SC wheels discs and brake callipers with monster spacers/sprocket carrier. another limitation is it would need to be an electric speedo pickup version as the SC wheels don't have the speedo drive, though creative parts swapping of bits may fix that too.
Another option is Kineo wheels. Central Wheel Components in Coleshill sell them, although the prices aren't shown on their website: http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/index/kineo_information.jpg
