Anyone got the titanium textile stuff ? I have found after only a couple months that the material on the inside of the sleeves has started to show unnatural wear considering the age. Some one else had same problem and we think it stems from the fact that Velcro elsewhere on the jacket snags the selves when not riding...I did return it to sportsbikeshop who forwarded it to wolf who basically said "owners fault" I also have a 2 piece leather suit a year old and the material on the lower inside leg is showing wear and tear not correspondent to age or use... Initially I was well impressed with the wolf kit, fitted well, good levels of protection, looks good and reasonably priced. Now I am thinking its a brand I wont go back to. Anyone else use their kit? If so what your thoughts?
hmm obviously too cheap for the millionaire playboys on the forum to raise comment lol...looks like I best get the wallet out and join the crowd of Dainese wearers
Sounds like my old Aprilia suit, the velcro used to catch on all the other bits leaving it looking worse for wear throughout - just seems to be the material the rest of the suit was made from causes the plastic hooks it to catch on it. I managed to remove a lot of the "pulls" with my heat gun - carefully! but it kept coming back after a time - sleeves and collar being particularly bad. The velcro would fill up with it too, making them not stay closed and had to be essentially combed out once in a while. Can't complain for the money, still have it and it is supremely warm and was dry (the taped seams started to leak eventually - after about 5 years of winter use) for the £200 I spent on the entire thing, survived very well in a spill too, just lost one of the chest pockets which caught my handlebar on the way down. Upgraded to Gore-Tex this year from Klim (Overlander top/bottoms) and so far well impressed, the velcro stuff doesn't catch at all in the wrong places and it's waterproof and windproof on the outside so to speak so it soaks up nothing leaving it heavy and cold when you go to put it back on at the end of the days work - it's near enough dry by the time I get out the car park. It's also a really nice fit, much less "power ranger" more like a outdoor jacket fit. It really is more of a shell though, you don't get any cosy liner for the money so will have to layer it come winter with my heated liner and a fleece or something. Even been wearing it on the hot days rather than my leathers for work commute as it has good vents on it and been comfortable.
I was looking a the Wolf stuff at the weekend and thought they were well put together. Look a bit like the RST jacket I have, no doubt out of the same factory. You have had problems, but I would still buy Wolf.
I have Wolf Titanium textiles (various bits actually) for touring and winter riding - I'm down with the socialists like that. It is an issue that the jacket sleeves velcro catches the jacket and it can be annoying, enough that I have habit of always doing the cuffs up. The velcro on the main zip also catches the sleeves a bit if the jacket is not down up. While it's annoying, I have not had any damage to the jacket as a result. I have the Wolf stuff as I think it's just a spinoff from another major name and I've always found the quality good. More importantly, if I'm doing long miles in lousy weather, it works well.
