So predictable fella. And typically misogynistic. As a spectacle, tennis is right there at the forefront of equality, yet its boring and way less value as they don't ever push their physixcal limits, most go two sets and last under 1 hr. Whereas the mens tend to be 4 or 5 sets and several hours.
100% agree. It's. It's not equality if you get equal pay but clearly don't bring in the same revenue because you don't play for as long or with the same consistent quality that the top men do.
Mens tennis and mens sport in general has developed over a greater period. Men are hugely competitive and physically much more powerful. It is little wonder mens sport is at a more advanced stage of development. Womens tennis will get there but its a little simplistic to demean it by comparison to mens. Personally its not for me tennis, mens or womens. But I believe they are entitled to equality. Anything else is frankly misogynistic and disrespectful to women in general and my Gran would gee ye a stoat in the bloater the noo if ye says otherwise. Dont diss my old Gran, nor your own.
Equality doesn't mean getting paid the same for doing less though. League 2 players don't get the same as premiership players. The gender isn't the issue. It's that the product of women's tennis just doesn't generate the money that men's does and therefore the earnings shouldn't be the same. A woman doctor and a male doctor doing the same job should get the same money of course... but if one was doing a more difficult or valued job then they should get more money regardless of their gender.
Tennis is literally a bore fest. Cricket is worse and darts and snooker/pool. But a vast majority of the female tennis players would receive swollen goods
