My 2010 Ducati hypermotard 796 would not start the other day as the battery was dead out of nowhere. I bought a new battery and plugged it in. When I turn the key on, the dash flashes repeatedly and I can hear the fuel pump turn on, as well as the running lights turn on. If I press the starter button the fuel pump makes noise, but nothing else happens. I have check every fuse and every connector I can find and nothing looks wrong. I also tested the voltage regulator and it is good. Any ideas as to what might be happening?
The battery is fully charged and I have load tested it. The must be some other electrical issue, whether it is something wrong with the dash or something else I do not know.
No, not at all. Whatever is preventing the dash from working is also preventing the starter motor from getting any signal from the starter button.
I hope for your sake it's not this - https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/hypermotard-flashing-dash.60873/
