My Termi exhaust arrived a couple of days ago so set about fitting it over the weekend. Turned out to be an awkward job to do. A few of the bolts are hidden so you have to remove other things to get to them. They say to remove the shock but I managed to get in without doing that. The worst bit was where Ducati had fixed the cat lambda sensor plug. It was wedged in a very tight gap between the inner frame and fuel tank so the tank had to be removed. The problem was that the front of the tank is held by metal sleeves that did not want to come out. After much swearing I finally got them out. The pipework fixing points were also a pain as they did not line up so I ended up removing the fixing brackets from the frame, attaching them to the pipework then bolting the brackets back in. Finally got it sorted so just need the map loading. Looks much better without that link pipe outside the swinging arm. The flashers ‘just’ miss the end of the silencers. If I didn’t have the thin metal flashers the standard ones would not have fitted. It is LOUD !
I agree, but also the quality and depth of the swearing...it can take years to master to expert level.
Watched a video of a dealer fitting the Termi. to the Pani. V2. Absolute nightmare to fit like you say.Plenty of hours labour to pay is all I could think of while watching.
Quite why they removed the entire bodywork in that video had me puzzled. The seat unit can stay in place as can the nose and main fairing. It’s the tank that caused my biggest headache, those dowels that push into the tank bushes were a real pain to get out.
Probably knew it looked shit so owners would buy the Termi. Good job I got a good discount. Not from Vertu where I got it from though. They offered next to nothing and cannot even book me in for my first service for a month. Rang another dealer and he said bring it in on Wednesday and I didn’t even buy it from him.
but why couldn't Ducati make a road legal OE version in the place that doesn't look an awful after thought
The warnings etched onto it are a bit overkill but it does just say it is not legal for ‘The American Market’ I even thought of covering it with some black stick on heat shield but it might look crap.
