So what have you done today..?

  1. IMG_2882.jpeg Rode the Elan Valley then across and back along the Devils staircase. Seems like ages since I’ve ridden out somewhere. Only 2 near head on collisions with cars because they hammer round single track blind bends, arseholes :grinning:.

  2. Yeah, bugger. The zone isn't very well signed even for locals. That, along with our bloody £1m/yr council-income 'bus gates' you're a bit buggered as a visitor...

  3. Packed my top case ready for an early start to drop the bike off for trucking to Copenhagen

  4. Told my boss that when he makes plans for the next financial year, he needs to plan for me not being there.

  6. I got my trust deed to sign. Somehow, I managed to lose £100,000 out of my settlement and it is double-shit as this trust does not avoid me paying any tax - even when I am dead it counts for inheritance tax!

I can't moan (but do) as this was my idea before the wicked judge slung his ore in.

If the TEAMS meeting in August gets me my £25,000 so that I can go to Spain next year and give money to my daughters, then all will be good in my strange world.

To change the subject: in my road of weirdos, there is one who has bought a boat to go fishing on the River Severn. It has a Yamaha outboards engine that does not work. His method of trying to fix it involves running the starter for many minutes and peering at it LOOKING DUMBFOUNDED. Then the battery goes flat and he finally shuts up and goes inside for a rest. How hard can it be? It's a Yamaha outboard engine that is dry (as it has not seen water for months) and has fuel. Actually, maybe it doesn't and that why it won't start! HOW HARD CN IT BE?

He has being doing this for every weekend for months. I would offer to help but I worry that I will just lose my temper - not with the engine, but with dumbo!

  8. Finally got a letter from the filth admitting they “misplaced” (stole) my property and are going to pay me for the items. Basically called me a liar until they viewed the body cam footage of my wrongful arrest. Police are all scum.

  9. Good you can perhaps bring it to an end, do they give you any compensation for you and your wife's stress over the matter?

  10. Coming to the end of a chilled week in Kefalonia. It’s been hot though, plus 35 degrees each day. The hire car doesn’t seem to quite have enough power to get over some of the hills / mountains in this place! There are a few great sections where I wish I was on a bike though for sure! Although most of the bikes here do appear to be pretty old and beaten up, look like they’ve had a tough life! Definitely not the place for a 1299 Panigale though!!

Did the trip from the west of the island over the hills to Sami on the west yesterday which has some cool sections and today, made it down to see the Turtles in Agosolti port with the kids which was very cool as well.

  11. We went there last year, and I thought the same about wishing I had the bike there. It’s a great place, definitely somewhere we’ll go back to one day.

  12. Stowford cider today.

And thinking about buying a new Triumph 400. I've never been owned a Triumph.
Going to Fowlers on Tuesday for a serious look

  15. My mate has a Speed 400 and she loves it. I seriously considered the Scrambler 400 and they’ve just launched a slightly more bling version of that. I’ve had lots of Triumphs and they’ve become really rather good.

However her partner has just bought a Royal Enfield Bear 650 and that’s a much better bike. More substantial and very customisable.

If you’re after a 2/3/4th bike I’d definitely consider the Bear. My mate has a 950 Mutley amount a few bikes in the garage, but his favorite this summer has been the Bear. He regularly rides with an S1000R and hasn’t been dropped yet!

  16. I've put some fence art up in the garden, weeded the borders, thrown in some bee bombs and built a dog crate up for the impending arrival of a new puppy we are getting next week

  17. Played cricket but the match was abandoned after one of our players suffered a horrible injury. He was half turning to pick up a ball while fielding, only travelling at jogging speed, when his spikes kind of snagged in the surface, his leg twisted and just snapped about a third of the way up his shin. I was standing directly opposite him, about 20m away, and I saw (and heard) everything. The part of his leg below the break sort of hinged at a right angle and it made a bang, like a muffled gunshot. One of the oppos had to take him to hospital because despite the 999 dispatcher knowing that he’d suffered a serious injury and was lying in the middle of a field in absolute agony, the ambulance ETA was a quite shocking FOUR hours.

  18. Took a drive to Goodwood, drove up the hill climb. It seemed odd to see everything gone, as two weeks ago it was bedlam! IMG_2800.jpeg IMG_2802.jpeg IMG_2803.jpeg IMG_2805.jpeg

  19. Weight is the only issue. The Royal Enfield is way over 210 Kg. The Triumph is about 170 Kg and the Aprilia about 175 Kg. The Ducatis are great on weight, but I cannot find one that I like the look of and the Scrambler is right for everything. but I just cannot do a 19" front wheel on a bike that is in no way really a Scrambler. The Panigale V2 can't even fit the horizontal cylinder exhaust in the fairing. Whilst I would support giving work to inexperienced youngsters, putting in a cut-out to ruin the fairing in order to show off an exhaust pipe is just childish and I would of expected an adult to intervene!

I want something less than 200 Kg and that is not openly offensive to the eye. 100 mph capability and a good range would be nice. You wouldn't think my requirements are that taxing, but they seem to beat most manufacturers!

It is probably all theory anyway as £100,000 has been lost from my settlement in only a few months, so at this rate, after a year, there won't be enough for a bag of chips!

I'll just stick with my KTM (that already needs a new battery) and my ST3 that I have the new battery for, but just need to fit it.
