You'll be just up the road from us. If you get the chance to try it, Josies, just off the town square is great for lunch.
We are at a site called Le Pin Parasol, on the north bank of Lac du Jaunay, just on the outskirts if a village called La Chapelle-Hermier The closest large towns are either Aizenay or Saint-Gilles-Criox-de-Vie The site we are on, we've been coming here since 2014, but had a few years off, there has been a lot of changes since we were last here
What hill is that then? Perhaps you are talking about Butser between us in Clanfield and Petersfield, which yes, when we walk home from Petetsfield is a bit of an obstacle, so we tend to walk there, have lunch and catch the bus home.
Steep. One gathers it's a village of sorts but so literally named it seems very dry wit. The primary reason for that route I used to take to Hayling Island. On a Brit single, Triumph twin and the Jota. I must do it with the Ducatis! Looking at a map I see there's Steep Hill and Bell Hill running down from Steep to Petersfield. Can't tell from the map which one I mean. Possibly they're both good. But it's about as steep as you can comfortably ride, switchbacks all the way, woodland all the way, and gives the best sound you can get from a lightly-silenced 4-stroke other than caning it on the flat. Butser Hill is where the Saxon settlement is/was?
They'd ducked behind a wall then ran away so were obviously chicken. I put it down to the recklessness of youth that I wasn't shaken up, but I probably poached a cigarette back in the car.
Yes, Butser ancient village, just 15-20mins walk from us and a great place to visit. They are an experimental Archeology centre doing some really interesting work. In the past I've attended various 'talks' or lectures there by the likes of Mick Aston(RIP), Julian Richards, and even Phil Harding. Locally known as Little Switzerland, and one of my favorite rides, especially the National Speed limit section after the 30/40 bit. Petersfield - Bell Hill - Steep - Stoner Hill and on towards the A32. We're past it now this year, but for a month or so each year the roadsides are covered in wild Garlic and the smell can be almost overpowering at the wrong time of day. I often take that way to get to the A32 as that road eventually hits it. Once up on the more flat section out of the wooded areas with fields on both sides it's really easy to get distracted by the many Kites gliding around either side or the road. .
I've spent all morning either dealing with insurance companies (car/bike/holiday) or dealing with the lying imbecilic cnuts at British Gas
I love experimental archeology but I wasn’t aware of that site. Thanks. Visiting it is now on my to-do list. I used to love this series when I was a kid!
In winter 1990 the boiler packed up. British Gas came round 3 times to supposedly fix it. Then I got a self-employed guy in and he fixed it. I'm glad I've had nothing to do with them since.
Great idea, although if I had easy access to morphine I imagine I wouldn't get much done. "Never a frown with golden brown" and all that......
My life is strange. That is all that you need to know. BUT, but, but as I'm going to Fowlers tomorrow, anyway, so I phone up to get their stock situation on the KTM battery. "What year is it?" "2023" "It can't be as they stopped doing them in 2019" "No they didn't as you sold me the bike in 2023 and you still have them in the showroom!" "Oh yeah but we don't have any in stock. Not Bosch, Yuasa, or any other make. We've got loads of hen's teeth in stock, if that would be easier." "Forget it". SportsBikeShop have them and they reserved one for me, but advised me to check what I have, as they can't be 100% sure" So I go to remove the battery and the negative attachment is really lose! I take out the battery and put it on one of my GENIUS chargers that I felt were shit. It goes to fully charged in minutes. I cancelled the reservation with SPORTSBIKESHOP and haven't put it back in the bike yet but it all seems fine. Just Mr Idiot not checking bolts are tight! AND THEN I CHECKED MY POST with a nice Notice of Intended Prosecution for my pleasure! 58 in a 50 where I had just overtaken a wanker in a caravan! Oh well
I had oodles of zomorph and oramorph, after mum died. Concluded that dihydrocodeine is better unless injected. Or, presumably, tramadol, which seems to be more commonly encountered. Take 2 dihydrocodeine every half hour, eventually the pain goes away completely. Not that the medical professionals I've mentioned it to have been enthusiastic. An antihistamine helps, as beyond prescribed dosage it makes you itch. Doesn't take long to get addicted that way though. I got myself off it primarily because the constipation was like trying to shit a cricket ball. Anyway I reckon those opioids would have helped. I don't understand how any of them are pleasurable. Mostly you get addicted because they make you too stupid to realise that you are. The voice of experience, here.
The battery is fine. Not only was the negative battery connection lose, but the Genius battery conditioner fell apart on the negative battery connector. It wasn't crimped properly. I'll make new one and solder it. Now that I am investing time in the zhitemonster, I won't be so inclined to part with it.
