  1. Interesting what you say about the 14t change, I had not picked up about the wear on the sliders - the comments I read I understood to be about the increased wear on smaller sprocket but now you say it it makes sense. I went 14t as it was the cheaper option and the existing chain and sprockets have done 6k miles. My logic being it was a cheap simple change that I could try out and if I liked it I could subsequently replace with 15/42 and a new chain. Does that make sense?

  2. Yes, I can see your logic. I don’t which bike we’re talking about but be aware that on many it’s very tricky, if not impossible to change the front sprocket without breaking the chain and removing it.

  3. 1260 multistrada.

  4. @Bumpkin has experience of changing the front sprocket on that model without breaking the chain iirc from another thread.

  5. Thanks for the link,
Bumpkin has commented on another thread I started on the subject - I am going to have another go at the weekend at fitting the 14t sprocket. Thank you for your helpful comments - this is a very good forum for getting advice from knowledgeable people familiar with the marque.
    Cheers

  6. There's another front sprocket expert, who knew? ;)

  7. @firecat0_0 I had to put a Monster on the Skylift this morning in order to get e rear wheel off. I think you might be able to get the front arm under the bike with the bike’s front wheel in a wheel chock :upyeah:.

  8. Thanks for sharing it’s really helpful. I am going ahead with the purchase of a skylift it’s whether or not to buy now or wait for motorcycle live for a discount - does anyone know what level of show discount they give? I did ask abba when I called them to discuss the skylift. They were very helpful and confirmed a discount would be offered at the show but not how much. I am tempted to pull the trigger rather than wait until November but I do like a dis punt!

  9. I remain surprised how cheap the cylinder is £30ish!

  10. iirc they knock 10% off and/or give free shipping.
If you sign up for emails from them, or are registered as a customer, you get notified when they have a sale, you won’t receive anything other than heads up on sales, no spam.

They also have sales on bank holiday weekends and ‘Black Friday’.

  12. Usually 10% on Black Friday. That's the discount I got last year, when I ordered the Skylift and Storage System (worth having if space is restricted IMHO). Reckon it'll be the same at the show, but you won't have to pay postage on top.
