  1. Shame, though I have a RossTech HEX-USB+CAN lead along with VCDS on my laptop. Whilst it doesn't cover everything on my 2017 Tiguan it does enough so far for my needs. Diagnosed and replaced the glow plug module last year. This spring I installed a new battery, after the old one seemed to be heading south, and programmed that to the car (not sure how necessary that is but lots of minor, yet persistent, electrical issues in logs disappeared as a result of the battery change).

  2. I just like it that the value to me of buying my (2nd-hand) OBDStar increases with every other vehicle the vanilla OBD app can be used on:)

  3. Anyone near Devizes in Wiltshire happy to help me enable the aux lights on a 2019 Multi 1260S please? Thanks.

  4. Hi everyone, I have a somewhat silly question, but I thought you could help.
I have a 2021 Multistrada v4s and I use OBDStar Iscan to clear the annual/oil service light. I can change the annual date offline, no problem, but for the oil, I need to be online because it requires server access. Once my subscription expires, will I no longer be able to do so?
Unfortunately, I can't find the option to change the mileage for the next service, as I did with the date.
    Do you know the answer?
    Thank you all so much.

  5. Is Cheltenham too far? If not I can do that for you.

  6. In my experience the OBDStar software update doesn't stop the device from working if it's expired, just don't add any new features of bikes.

Not quite sure about needing to be online for the oil service light reset and the need for server access, as I cover lower milage than the required 9,000 miles on my 1260 I haven't had to deal with that. I would have thought that the oil service reset would have reset the milage countdown to that recommended by the manufacturer as that's, IIRC, done on milage or age (covered in annual service if not done sooner on mileage...). Maybe the connection is required to check what that mileage is?

  8. Are you intending to change the mileage to the next oil service? Or are you happy with the 9,000 mile intervals? I would hazard a guess that the mileage to next oil service is set to 9,000 miles (or the kilometre equivalent) when you reset that light. Why it needs an internet connection I can only guess at...

It might be worth asking the vendor where you bought your OBDStar about this issue. If they don't know then they would hopefully enquire with the manufacturer on your behalf.

  9. The Multistrada V4 has two different types of service: annually, which doesn't require an oil change but only checks, and oil change, which should be done every 15,000 km.
Since I do the maintenance myself, I change the oil every 7,000 km and I'm happy with it; 15,000 seems like a lot.
The problem, as I was saying, is that when I reset the annual oil change light, it doesn't reset the oil mileage because it sees it as a different service.
The thing that worries me is that it asks me to be connected to the server to turn off the warning lights: I don't want it to stop working at the end of the subscription. I was just wondering if anyone with the same model has experience.
Unfortunately, the people at obdstar never reply to my emails; only once did they ask me for my VIN and then they didn't consider me anymore.

  10. You'll have to wait for a response from a V4 owner on this one. Haven't heard of the need to connect to complete an oil service reset before.
