from the new GS450 thread that i dont want to distract from. Yup, I had a CRF250 too. It was a very dependable and sturdy bike, but the engine's power delivery was flat and when factoring in the bikes significant weight, the overall package was pretty dull & dumpy. . maybe mine is geared different. no speedo as such, just milometer that resets every? cant mind. nice power band that will lift the front wheel in the lower gears. i doubt it will do 60mph tho i did overtake 125 (just) when riding it back from its MOT. chortle. but ferkme, for a 250 4stroke, it gets there quick. it's been a while, i used to do a bit of moto X back in the day and did a bit of spannering for one of our best on his KTM's during the 80s so maybe i'm out of touch. probably a bit heavy in comparison to new bikes, but i can imagine more boombooms being a bit of a handful for flatout trail riding. and a lot less expensive when rattling a tree.
DR sold. Cash hasn't changed hands yet so you never know. I know him so should be fine. (Touch wood) he wants a full restoration project
i thought that was a good price - when it comes to this type of selling, you only need two punters, as you well know. Will never forget two proud (maybe i meant stubborn) Italians bidding over some old stock Fiat 600 body panels. Nobody else was interested, it was a "tumbleweed" type of atmosphere at an outside auction. They could have bought all the panels for a couple of quid and shared them, but instead, the "winning" price went to many times this. RIP Fernando Leone
brandnew with sticker (year or so kept in workshop) dunlop sportmax GPR-300f 110/70zr17 (mc54) no idea on price thaughts?
New ones are £80ish. Looking at minimally worn tyres on eBay seems to suggest the norm for them is about 50% of retail. So how keen are you to sell?
