from the new GS450 thread that i dont want to distract from. Yup, I had a CRF250 too. It was a very dependable and sturdy bike, but the engine's power delivery was flat and when factoring in the bikes significant weight, the overall package was pretty dull & dumpy. . maybe mine is geared different. no speedo as such, just milometer that resets every? cant mind. nice power band that will lift the front wheel in the lower gears. i doubt it will do 60mph tho i did overtake 125 (just) when riding it back from its MOT. chortle. but ferkme, for a 250 4stroke, it gets there quick. it's been a while, i used to do a bit of moto X back in the day and did a bit of spannering for one of our best on his KTM's during the 80s so maybe i'm out of touch. probably a bit heavy in comparison to new bikes, but i can imagine more boombooms being a bit of a handful for flatout trail riding. and a lot less expensive when rattling a tree.
