Staff Nurse Jan, v. v. hot, remonstrated with me for not eating hospital food. I had people bringing me take aways and the like. She said I needed the protein, so I pointed to the half eaten bag of peanuts and she gave up. Later I asked her just what I'd done to my knee, so she hitched up her skirt, rested her foot on the bedframe and showed me on her own shapely, stocking clad kneecap. Thus did she revenge herself.
Apart from repairing a used garden shed that was given to me, looking at Triumph Speedmasters online used prices & Youtube reports. It looks a cracking bike, i'm just not sure about forward foot pedals.
Luckily when I went mid 90's they weren't as numerous as is the case now. Not sure I'd go due to the flags and people blocking your view whilst they take footage on their phone of the performance. The hell of other people fully manifested.
I don’t I’ve ever been to a gig that lasted for a few hours, festivals yes, but that’s over a few days. They were on stage I’d say for about an hour and a half. It wasn’t seated we were free to move and stand elsewhere but I rather enjoyed the entertainment and party vibe they brought to the gig. Each to their own. Actually I did one go and see Elvis Costello play over in Ireland, good gig , but bugger wouldn’t leave the stage with the audiences appreciation eventually turning into a slow hand clap after the tenth encore.
Absolutely -à chacun son goût! PS. Be warned if you're planning to catch Bruce at an indoor, sit down, kinda place. He always plays for way more than an hour thirty!
Saw him play at Man City’s ground when it was at Main Road back in the day. It was a standing event and as you say it went on far too long. I left early to ‘beat the crowd’
I saw him twice at his peak in Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium. Four hours plus both times and loved every minute!
It's been on my hit list for sometime now, cleaning the van windscreen inside & out.............i see again.!
Well you can’t say you didn’t get your monies worth Never really been a fan of old Brucie or his take on all things Americana Speaking of Barcelona I did once go to see Mogwai play in the grounds of a church on Mount Tibidabo. Fabulous atmosphere and views over the city.
I'm not a fan really of Old Brucie either. I like young Brucie. The 75-85 Live and the Tunnel of Love was the last of the good stuff. Though a few tracks of Ghost of Tom Joad were OK. Barcelona is an interesting place. I knew it best before the Olympics, when wandering off Las Ramblas into the side streets was best done with a couple of mates, unless you were a very fast runner! Another time I remember going back in winter to find the hillside had accidently caught on fire. This allowed developers a new chance for their plans to concrete the forest to be considered at planning, since the protected forest was now reduced to glowing embers. It was windy and sleeting. Everyone was covered in snowflakes; most of which were actually white soot, ruining your clothes. The entire city was filthy, smeared with a wet black sludge. I read later in La Vanguardia that cats had been set loose with flaming cloths tied to their tails. Just awful. And yet the people -though saddened- carried on smiling at the visitors and made everyone welcome as they always do.
Last night we went out out for the first time in ages. We'd left the pups alone in their pen for a couple/three hours before but last night we left them for just over 6 hours and everything was good when we got back. We left the house at 9.15pm and got home at 3.30am. Today we have been recovering
First a disclaimer: Saturday morning I bought 40 fags. Because I have to stay away from places that sell them, for the first two, three days. So now I have a hundred-odd NRT lozenges and a hundred-odd pieces of NRT gum, and enough milk, coffee and tea; and I've finished the fags and started the NRT on psychologically-important Monday morning, December 1st. Which is why I said to the lady at the tobacco counter "It is a Christmas jumper!" She was resignedly apologetic and I said "Well, it is nearly December". Absolutely deadpan, but in my head it was 100% sarcastic. All-in-all it was a very surreal moment. The most amazing part was they weren't playing the Christmas pop songs. I'd bet money they are from today though!
get those advent calendars started, what's not to like about a cube of chocolate in your gob for 25 days.
